Choose what you want to save
A saved property is a shortcut to a particular home. A saved search keeps your filters, such as purpose, area, type, price and bedrooms. One helps you return to a listing; the other helps you continue discovering. Saved properties and searches are private to you.
Create a saved search from results that already reflect your needs. A very broad search can produce alerts you do not find useful. A search with many optional constraints can miss homes that deserve a look. Use the search guide to settle that balance first.
Give the search a name you will recognise
Use the main purpose and area in the name, followed by an essential requirement if it helps. “Rental near work, two bedrooms” is easier to understand later than “Search 3”. The saved-search screen summarises key filters so you can check what the name refers to.
Open a saved search to return to its choices. If your move-in needs or preferred areas change, run the updated search and keep the saved searches that still describe your plans. Remove obsolete ones rather than continuing to receive alerts for a move you are no longer considering.
Set an alert rhythm you can use
The app offers instant, daily and weekly alert settings for a saved search, and a switch to turn its alerts off. Pick a rhythm that fits how often you can review results. Turning alerts off does not mean the search has to be deleted.
| Choice | When it may suit you |
|---|---|
| Instant | You want to review new matches as alerts arrive. |
| Daily | You prefer a regular time to look through updates. |
| Weekly | You are exploring over a longer period. |
| Alerts off | You want to keep the search and return manually. |
Check the settings at both levels
An enabled saved-search alert and device permission are separate settings. If alerts are enabled but nothing appears, check the app’s notification preferences and your phone’s notification settings. Also confirm that the saved filters still make sense; there may be no new matching listings.
An alert is a prompt to reopen a listing, not a guarantee that it remains available. Read the current details and ask the advertiser about availability before arranging a visit. Network and device settings can affect when a notification reaches you.
Review your searches when your plans change
Keep the number of saved searches small enough that you can explain the purpose of each one. If you are considering two different areas, separate searches can make those updates easier to understand. Avoid several nearly identical searches unless they answer different questions. Deleting a search removes that saved filter set; it is different from deleting your account.
A check before the next step
Use a name that explains the purpose and timing, for example a rental search for a planned move. Review the saved criteria when that timing changes. If alerts no longer help, adjust the individual search rather than assuming you must delete the whole account or disable every message notification.
