Make a viewing answer the right questions

A viewing is the moment to connect the listing with the actual home. Decide what you need to see before you request a time.

Resolve the basics before travelling

Ask whether the property is still available and whether the advertised price and important details are current. Tell the advertiser which unit you are asking about. If the listing contains several example images, clarify what will be available to see.

Prepare a short viewing list from gaps in the listing: layout, finishing, furnishings, access and any facilities that matter to you. Keep it specific enough that the visit can answer it. Confirm the approximate location and ask for the actual meeting point rather than navigating only to a map pin.

Request the format that suits the next step

Sakenly supports in-person and video viewing requests. Choose the format and proposed time, then wait for the advertiser’s response. A requested viewing is different from a confirmed one. Read the status and any follow-up messages before treating the appointment as settled.

If a different time is proposed, check that you can attend and confirm the new arrangement. If your plans change, use the viewing and conversation tools to let the other person know. Avoid relying on an old notification when a later message changes the appointment.

Use a video viewing as a focused first look

Ask for a route through the rooms you need to see, including windows, storage and the entrance. Clarify whether the call is showing the specific property. A video can help you reject an unsuitable layout, but it may not convey noise, condition, access or the surrounding streets fully.

Write down what was shown and what was not. If the home remains promising, an in-person visit can focus on those unanswered points. Do not assume that a scheduled video viewing is recorded or stored by Sakenly.

Check how the space works

Look at room proportions and how you would use the layout. Check daylight and ventilation, visible condition, building access and the facilities discussed with the advertiser. For a furnished rental, ask which items stay. For a developing property, ask which parts are complete and which were shown as examples.

  • Keep the listing and the agreed meeting details available.
  • Note observations separately from statements by the advertiser.
  • Ask permission before taking photographs.
  • Avoid sharing unrelated identity or payment details merely to arrange a visit.

Close the loop after the viewing

Update your saved homes and comparison with what you learned. Send one follow-up message listing the points that still need answers. If the home is unsuitable, remove it from the active shortlist. The viewing feature coordinates an appointment; it does not reserve the property or complete a sale or rental agreement.

A check before the next step

Before travelling, confirm the date, meeting point, exact unit and person showing it. After the visit, record what you actually saw and which equipment remained untested. Follow up on those questions without treating an appointment or visit as a reservation or agreement.
